Biography
Maureen, has a Doctorate degree in Geography & Environmental Management from the University of Port Harcourt, Nigeria. She bagged Msc in Disaster Risk Management & Development studies from the University of Port Harcourt. And holds a B.Sc in Estate Management from the prestigious University of Nigeria, Enugu campus.
She is the Lead Consultant of Maureen Ugwu Consulting, a firm of Chartered Estate Surveyors and Valuers in Portharcourt, Rivers State.
Her core research interests in the Environmental field ranges from Vulnerability assessment & Flood control measures, Disaster risk reduction strategies, Resettlement Action Plan( RAP), Environmental and social impact assessments, Effectiveness of Stakeholders engagement in planning processes, where she has undergone series of trainings and workshops etc.
She acquired various experience in the environmental field and has many publications & international journals.
She is an Associate member of the Nigeria Institution of Estate Surveyors & Valuers (NIESV). Professional member of Nigerian Environmental Society (NES). Professional Member, Association of Environment Impact Assessment of Nigeria (AEIAN). Professional Member of Emergency, Crisis, & Risk Management Institute of Nigeria (ECRMI).
